Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of canary-research.com, the Friction Score tool, and any audit services provided by Canary Research ("Canary," "we," "us"). By using the site or purchasing an audit, you agree to these terms.

The service

Canary Research produces behavioral friction audits: structured analyses of web pages that identify likely points of user friction, hesitation, and trust erosion. Audits are produced using a multi-model AI methodology, and — on applicable tiers — reviewed by a human Behavioral Architect. The free Friction Score tool provides an automated heuristic score and a single sample finding.

Advisory, not guaranteed outcomes

Audit findings are professional analysis and recommendations. They are advisory. Canary does not guarantee any specific increase in conversion rate, revenue, or other business outcome. Implementation decisions, and their results, are yours. Findings reflect analysis at a point in time; live pages change.

Acceptable use

• Submit only URLs you own or are authorized to have analyzed. Do not submit pages that require authentication or contain others' confidential information.
• Do not use the service to build a competing product, scrape the site, or disrupt its operation.
• Reports we deliver to you are for your and your team's internal use. Please do not republish them as your own work.

Payment & delivery

Paid audits are billed through Stripe at the price shown at checkout. We aim to deliver completed audits within the turnaround stated on the pricing page (typically 48 hours for a single-page Standard audit). If we cannot meet the stated turnaround, we will tell you and offer a revised timeline or a refund.

Refunds

If a delivered audit does not surface findings of genuine value to your team, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will work with you toward a fair resolution, including a refund where warranted. We would rather have a fair outcome than an unhappy customer.

Intellectual property

The audit report we deliver is yours to use internally. The underlying methodology, prompts, persona library, scoring system, and engine remain the property of Canary Research.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canary Research's total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the audit in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue or profits.
